I was reviewing the specs of the JD4110 since it's basically the same machine as the 4100 from what I understand, and at the bottom of the page at JD's website it says ( Country of Origin: Japan)

So was my JD built in USA or Japan? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Thanks guys, I assumed that all JD were made in the USA and they bought their engines from Japan. I certainly learned something new today. Cheers /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I'd heard they were made in Korea and mentioned this to a dealer (not the one I eventually bought from) and he puffed up and shot back "they're made in Georgia." I think he was a tad defensive about this.

790's and 990's too. They are 100% built by Yanmar for JD. (which suits me fine - Yanmar has a very good reputation ...)

Augusta Georgia with the Yamnar engine installed there. The 4100 was made in Japan while the 4200-4700/4210-4710's were assembled in Augusta Georgia.

Yeah like someone said the newer 4000 series John Deeres are "Assembled" in Georgia. However the engine and I think the trans/axles, etc are made by Yanmar in Japan. I think alot of people think all John Deeres are made in the U.S. Just the other day I was at the local Deere dealer and they had some 40+ hp tractors made in India! What is up with that! If I wanted an Indian made tractor I would buy a Mahindra! John Deere needs to get they act together and support American workers especially since their an American company...the last surviving all American tractor company that is.

The front axle on my JD 4400 is made by Dana corporation and the hydro is made by Funk which is a John Deere owned company.
