JD 4100
i have a JD 4100 compact utility tractor. when i purchase my filters (oil and air) they amount to a good chunk of money. I would like to replace the fuel filter and the inside air filter also but they have been a lot of money so i have delayed doing it.

on ebay they have a company selling 2 oil filters, the outside air filter and a fuel filter for about $65.

Is this a good deal? Should I go somewhere else? any recommendations?

thanks

No ---- Go elsewhere. Price isn't everything. May be of bad
quality
. Not only that but $65 is no bargain.
Just my opnion.

That ebay price seems steep, especially for unknown quality.
Where are you purchasing now?
I have a 4200 and here is what my dealer charges for those filters:
Primary Air: 16.28
Secondary Air: 11.54
Fuel: 6.04
Oil: 6.56

Somewhere on this site I saw a list with JD filter numbers that cross-referenced Wix filter numbers. You might try a search for that, and be able to pick up a Wix at an auto parts store a little cheaper.
Good Luck

Go to your friendly local neighborhood NAPA auto/farm/truck parts store. Better yet they occasionally have stock up sales. They had most of the filters I needed for my 2210 in stock and at a fraction of JD's price.

I just went through the fall/winter changeover to synthetic oil in my crankcase and front differential and of course changed out most of my filters. So, it's a pretty good hit in the back pocket. I noted the earlier posts for the WIX filter compatibility and went down to my local NAPA dealer only to find that they're at least 25% higher that my local Deere dealership. So, it's not a given that NAPA is gonna be a better deal. My 2 cents. AKfish

Maybe it's just me but during the warranty period on my 790 I'm using nothing but Deere oil, grease, and filters. My rationale is if something goes really wrong they can't say I was using inferior filters and oil.
