good to know. i will check them out. with the local dealers here (and one of JD's big pluses) is the parts availability. if they don't have it in stock they have it next day

For break-fix parts I still rely on the local dealers but for routine maintenance items I've been sending for them. I usually purchase enough for two maintenance periods and then when I use my last filter I place another order.

For the dollar amount investment ... whats a few more dollars for original equipment filters ? I don't like their prices but I buy their filters and oil.... because it makes operation easy and confident.

I would agree with agent blue for the investment cost ill Just get filters and hydro fluid from my dealer. However oil I use shell diesel engine oil. Same stuff I've used for years on the big deeres

This.

I know my X740 is a much smaller investment with a cheaper running cost, but I too use John Deere oil and filters. I even use John Deere grease. Why? If I ever have a warranty issue, my dealership has proof through my sales history in their computer that I used nothing but John Deere products. That way they can't argue it was anything I used. In all honesty, I would just buy the filters and fluids from the Dealership. It's piece of mind that the tractor is getting exactly what it was designed to use.
