Just use a golf tee to plug a 1/8" vent hole drilled in the can.

the sheet metal screw might be a good idea.......is there anything else you fellas can think of that could be opened and closed?

Yes, your wallet when you go to buy fuel. I want a gas can that doesn't cost so much to fill. Any ideas?;) :D

I use a couple WWII metal cans (jerry cans)... a bit rusty on the outside but work great!

The the storm just comming though I broke down and bought another 6 gallon plastic jug at Sams. $14. I have plenty of gas cans at the other house but.......

I think I'm going to splash this 6 gallon jug to diesel by splashing on some yellow paint. I think I'm also going to break down and vent it myself.

I like the golf tee idea!! Or someone needs to find a source for those little yellow plastic ones and we can put them on the jugs.

As far as keeping then in the back of the truck, it ain't pretty but it also ain't always seen, but I have some of those stake post tie downs in my truck bed. On each side I have some 14-2 romex tied to them. The romex is long enough(couple feet) tie around stuff, boards, generators, bikes, chairs, whatever. They are like big twist ties. Line the gas cans in the back, loop the romex through the handle, give it a twist and the stay put. Wnen not in use I tuck them in the bed where you can't seen them from the outside. Cheap but effective. Ahh I found a pix, you can see the white romex tied to the back stake. VERY useful.

Wedco makes a nice diesel fuel can. If you google them the parent company is The Plastics Group. They also make cans for Briggs and Stratton. I think you can buy the cans from a dealer. Go to Briggs and Strattons web site and search for fuel cans. This will give you a model # and picture of the can.

This is the style I have and with the gas cap on the fender and the grab handle next to it on the BX24, I find this is the only easy way to fuel up without making a mess out of the tractor. The trick is to make sure your finger / glove isn't blocking the vent part of the button you press to let the fuel flow.

1*I still may upgrade to something bigger with a pump when I get the shed done but this thing works okay for now.
*I did that here.http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/1416095-post3.html
1*Do it; you'll like it much better.
