Just curious as to where these tractors originate given their higher price as a premium model.

Iseki, in Japan.

There have been several threads on TBN asking this.

My impression is that the branding as a "premium" model means it has more features than standard, which explains the price difference. I'm not sure the factory location of this vs that is indicative of price, maybe so, or maybe indirectly due to shipping cost?

I haven't really noticed them being any more premium than an LS, TYM, etc. Guess it is just marketing to charge more.

The 1700 premium and 1700 economy can be compared to the Kubota Standard L and Grand L. More features=more money. I don't think they are meant to be more "premium" than what other manufacturers offer, just more premium than the 1700 E series, just as the Grand L has more features than the standard L.

All the "1700 premium" models are built in Japan. Iseki has factories in Japan and Indonesia.

Very good tractors. 1759 is a nice machine
Their Hydrostatic models are a piece of crap. Have a 1758, 59 HP. Can only use low range at 3MPH if you're pulling or pushing into a heavy load. Hydro will slip in Midrange before you can load engine or even spin tires. In shop know having to replace turbo and Particulate exhaust filters. Has 250 hrs.

I would not recommend a Hydrostatic tractor to anyone of any brand unless doing only loader work. Robs too much power. Just my opinion.
