69 Ford 4500
I inherited a 69 Ford 5600 Industrial tractor with a loader. It doesn稚 run and I知 thinking of fixing up but, I can稚 even find the clutch and I can稚 get it out of gear. Where痴 the clutch? What kind of transmission is this? Thanks!!

I checked the s/n and is D5011F so it's a 4000 industrial diesel, no PTO, 4/4TC power reversing. Year was 69 and I still can't find a clutch and what is a 4/4 TC power reversing transmission?
Thanks!

If it is sitting on the level, you should be able to pop it out of gear even without the clutch. I presume there should be a 4 speed + reverse transmission gearshift, and a couple of speed rearend (second shift lever).

Although, perhaps the Industrial version had something different than the ag version??? Hydrostatic?

Photos on the internet show a pretty typical clutch.

Is the linkage there? What about the throwout lever? You might be able to put a large adjustable wrench or monkey wrench (not a pipe wrench) on the lever and twist it a little.

I don't know if it is worth fixing a 69 4500 industrial diesel, no PTO, 4/4TC power reversing. What is a 4/4 TC power reversing transmission? If it's hydrostatic does the engine needs to be running to get it into neutral?
Thanks!

If the unit has been setting for some time the clutch has probably rusted to the flywheel.

Might be a model with a Torque Converter, common on industrial loaders.

Could be because the s/n show the transmission as: 4/4 TC power reversing. I'll research it but, the "TC" could mean "Torque Converter".
Thanks!

1969 4000 industrial sounds like a 4500. I had one for 17 years. It had the 4 speed power reverser. I assume yours is the same. It has a torque converter. The power reverser {Forward, neutral and reverse) is controlled by a lever on the dash on the left side of the steering column. The 4 speeds (available in both forward and reverse) is a mechanical gear set (non-synchronized) controlled by a shift lever on top of the transmission case (between your legs). To shift the mechanical 4-speed, place the power reverser lever on the dash in the neutral (middle) position and shift the gear lever on top of the transmission.
I found this tractor to be amazingly strong and reliable. Sometimes I wish I still had it for the bigger jobs.
