wheel weights---opinions needed

I am thinking about getting a 1455v with a FEL. I will be using it for bushhogging,finish mowing,some gardening and general landscaping. All of which is around my home. I am thinking about getting wheel wts. to help with the FEL. Is it better to get the wts. that attach to the 3 pt. hitch ?? Also considering buying a sunshade. Do those really keep the sun off you ? Is it worth the price ?

Wheel weights and a ballast box/block (on the 3 pt) are often both used to get maximum ballast. Depending on what you are lifting, you might want to do that.
The advantage of the ballast box is that it can be easily removed and I think it gets a little more mechanical advantage since it's behind the rear axle. Wheel weights are a bit more difficult to remove, but allow you to still use the 3 pt for implements and don't increase the length of your tractor.
Filled tires are also another option, but you really can't remove the weight once they are filled.

Do you have sunshade/ROPS for your 1220? Just wondering if it's from MF or aftermarket, and what it looks like on 1220. I'm trying to imagine it on my 1523.

I bought my Deere 2440 new in 1978 with a ROPS and canopy from the factory. I couldn't wait 'till I had time to take off that goofy looking thing. When I got the tractor home, I needed it right away. I didn't have time to remove the canopy before I had to start baling hay.

After a few minutes of using the tractor WITH the canopy, my mind was made up.

28 years later, it's still on the tractor. They are all that and a bag of chips!
