Tractor
CK30HST TLB, JD 350 'dozer
besides plowing snow (we don't have much 'o that here) :p

The tractor is just begging for a few juicy add-ons like a treelimb overhead protection system (TOPS) and skid plate for the lower hyd filter.

Whatcha'all got going?

And Merry Christmas!

In Catt county the snow takes all your time.

My tractor is pretty much done. Changed the oils and filters, gave it a good pressure washing.
I need to service my truck yet, and put in new vent windows and frames, a power window motor and power door lock motors. Shouldn't take me long to finish that.

Here is my big project for the winter. I bought a 1986 Kawasaki Ninja 600R, all tore apart and in boxes. HOPING I can put it back together over the winter and do some riding next summer.
I have most of the frame, wiring, body panels, radiators, and controls together on so I know where everything goes. I will be starting on the motor soon.

Not so much winter projects as goals for the new year is what I call them.

1. Get my old jeep running.
2. Put my outside access bathroom together.
3. Build my storage shed.
4. Build my gazebo for my front pasture.
5. Move the dirt piles from my back pasture and get it planted in bermuda.
6. Start my food plots.
7. Build a comfortable deer stand for two.
8. New flooring in my home.
9. Build a pasture sprayer.
10.Go fishing with my kids.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

"Get my old jeep running, outside access bathroom together, Build storage shed, Build gazebo, Move dirt piles, Start food plots, New flooring in home, Build a pasture sprayer."

that's waaaayy too much work over the winter

I got the old Ford truck running good this summer and did some clearing & house maintenance. Managed to put off the roof work till next summer. All the projects on your list is scary.

The treestand and fishing with the kids, i can handle :D

Rex,

After replying to your thread, I got to thinking that I needed to keep it handy if I was to get any of it done. I made it my signature so that I can remind myself of what my goals are for the year. If not, I know I'll get sidetracked!!!

LOL i hear ya'....part of my delayed roof work already bit me. Had to go up in the blowing rain and dig moss out of the skylight seam because it started dripping. Worse yet it was dripping right where I stand to fill my coffee cup!

ROTFLMAO !!!!

OK, that killed me. I can picture myself ignoring the leak, or at least putting it off until it's dry outside. But then if it's in a place that annoys me, like where I get my cup of coffee, and having to fix it right away!!! :D :D :D

That's a lot of work y'all have coming up...mostly done with the major stuff here...when we first bought the place I planned to excavate the swamp and make it a pond, but then the county declared it a wetland so it can't be touched...

But I'm still cutting trails in the woods and after a painful experience decided to add a TOPS to the tractor (treelimb overhead protection system) lol. Just finished...

Cut, heat and shape pipe ends for bolting on

Weld cross pipes and expanded metal top

Closeup from below cage

The ROPS is stronger now with the TOPS bolted on, treelimbs and brush won't get back at me, and the shop is tall enough to drive inside. Added only 40 lbs to the top.

Thanks to y'all for giving me ideas on styles and fabbing :)

Nice job on the TOPS. Red Rocker did one somewhat like that a while back too. I may get off my duff and try the same thing if I can find the time. It also provides a spot to mount forward facing worklights.

Thanks...the toughest part was bending the pipe without kinking it too much. Next time I'll heat that part of the pipe too and then bend it myself to see if it works better. The only listed pipe-bender-guy here within 50 miles had a HF hydraulic bender that didn't work too well. (It's 1-3/4" SCH40 old black steel pipe.) Solid as a rock when i swing off of it with 220lbs in motion. Gotta' go on a diet.

yes, RedRocker's folding ROPS w/ canopy is verrry nice, i pondered his photos while figuring mine out...

I just got a halogen weather-proof rotating work light to mount on it, but can't find the hot wires under the hood to plug in to. Must have looked at ten threads about it on here so i am blind. It's an '07 CK30 HST...

Nice work on the TOPS Rex! That setup looks quite worthy. I was thinking of making something like Redrocker's as well, but I moved away from that nice new barn I built just last fall and at the new place I have to drop the ROPS to get the machine inside. :( Have to build a new barn/shed.......

On the electrics side, I found a blank spot on the fuse block but it wasn't fused so I installed a wire w/inline fuse to my auxillary lights. According to the manual there is supposed to be an extra user dedicated block in the fuse box with fuse, but does not exist on mine. There is two available wires in the rear under cowling for your use, one hot with key and other continuous(there's a thread somewhere w/pics, can't remember who posted it). There's a third if memory serves that's hot w/shifter in reverse.

Thanks for the live wire tips williekioti, this fuse box has that User fuse, I'll get in behind it to trace where its wire got off to...

I saw the pics of the banana and spade connectors under the toolbox cowling on the rear, they wouldn't show current so i better check that fuse too.

And the engine heat gauge stopped working so that fuse too... the shop manual isn't too much help tracing these wires or i can't read it.

Ya' don't have that beautiful barn anymore? Yep, time for a replacement :)

Hmmm... that looks like the good beginnings of a cab. :) Which is one of the first things I want to do to my CK30... if I can ever get it here. Still waiting on bank to sort out their paperwork. :(

Dangit, I have to store my tractor in a semi container with the rops folded due to ceiling heighth. So no fancy headache rack for me.

You just need a double height container. Those things are made to be stacked anyway. There's your first winter project. The second can be the TOPS.
