What's your "go to" pocket knife?

It's a sad day in NC. As I posted earlier, I have been carrying a black swiss army that was a gift from my aunt for years and years. A couple of days back I was working with the tractor hauling dirt, used the knife and set it down on the fel, then never saw it again. That's two favorite knives (buck 110, swiss army) that I have lost in the last year or so. Ugh.

Sorry to here about the lost knives. I once put my swiss knife on the bumper of my truck and drove away. 5 miles later I remembered and stopped to see if it was still there and it was. Had it for 20 years plus and then had to give it to the TSA in Miami because I forgot to put in my luggage and they would not let me take it on the plane. My daughter could bring on knitting needles 14" long metal and I could not bring on a 3" blade with cork screw and screw driver, ugh! Also lost a leatherman wave (had it for a week) by leaving on the top of my truck. Also a beauty of a pruning saw on the back of my truck. Some kind of patter here, now I put them in my pocket.

Gerber LST, Big enough to fill your hand, small enough you can sit down comfortable. I am on my 3rd one, first one I sharpened down to nothing, second ones is round here somewhere, third one was because I really loved the last two.

That is identical to the one I carry..attached to my key ring. I had to retire the first one since the little hole in the handle wore through, so I began to loose it more and more. I like the knife because it is with me reliably, and I won't drive off an leave it because it has my keys.:)

They make two models, the LST ultralight and the bigger one. The one I have is about 6.0" over all, blade length is 3.5" or so and weighs about an ounce, which is why I always liked it as I can have a nice size knife with out feeling it in me pocket. The lanyard hole actually has a pocket clip fhat goes in, I have always romoved it as it rides comfy in my front pocket with out the clip. Can't be more than 3/8" wide They retail for around 25.00 or so. Its been a good friend over the years.

Raider I have two suggestions for regarding knives. Don't fly and don't drive a truck. It might take a lot longer to get anywhere but you will have your knife when you get there.LOL

I travel with a 2" thin locking Gerber...super light and I keep it sharp. Mostly used for cutting up the steaks we order in restaurants.

Around the farm I wear a Gerber tool...I like it over the leather-man because I can launch the pliers with 1 hand flick of the wrist.

That's just how I lost my cool little pocket knife years ago. Forgot it was in my pocket until I dumped my change into the dish at airport security. I'd had it for so long I wasn't willing to just hand it over and I actually left security,, tracked down one of the the shuttle bus drivers for the service I used as transport from long term parking to the terminal.

He said he'd tag it and I could pick it up at their HQ when I got back. Whether it was him of someone else that tookk it I'll never know but of course they never heard of it when I got back.

Smilinjak,

thanks for the advice. Haven't lost one using a car yet, also can't not have a truck. Tried once and then had to trade in the SUV for my current truck. I kind of stay ahead of the game with knife purchases. The airport deal was really annoying (swiss army knife that I had a long, long time).

have a good one,
