What's your "go to" pocket knife?

Don't laugh everyone but I carry a mini swiss army knife with a blade, file/screw driver. a pair of scissors and a pen. The pen comes all of them used regularly. After that it is a regular swiss army with the two blades, screw driver, bottle and can opener.

I have too many to choose from.

So what qualifies as a "big job" for you? Cutting cane? Hoof picking? Deer gutting? Seems like a shame to get such a purty JD themed knife even a bit dirty.

Ok time to fess up.

Every year I try to buy my son a knife for Christmas or his birthday. I was in a truck stop between here and Omaha and found this beast and knew that it would be the perfect knife to add to his collection.

As far as knives go, it's pretty much junk. But we have had a lot of fun showing it off to friends. When this thread started I couldn't help myself!!

At the local barber shop, the barber has a knife as wide as the television is sits on. It is a Buck knife, carved from wood. The blades open and close, etc, and it is a pretty interesting piece.

So the truth is you went up north and stole Paul Bunyan's pocket knife, and now you are showing it off just like a kid.:laughing:

Gerber usually warranties all their products for life, you can try contacting them to see if they'll either replace the cutters for free or sell you new ones.

I had one of my Gerber multitools repaired by them at no charge, they even replaced the sheath which I hadn't shipped to them with the tool!

Reading from their website:

The triangular tungsten carbide cutters on my Gerber Multi-Plier have worn out or broke, where can I get replacements?

The carbide cutter inserts are the same cutters used on lathes, mills, and CNC machines used in the metal fabrication industry. These parts are proprietary and cannot be found in industrial stores or machine shops. These are machined specifically at Gerber. For a list of retailers that offer these parts, please email warranty@gerbergear.com

Good luck ! I was satisfied with their service, they do stand behind what they make.
