Is there a hole in the filter? And a guage that shows vacuum?

Re: What\'s wrong with this picture

Are you talking about the stater cable and muffler by any chance or are the filter threads stripped and the jug is holding it up??

Re: What\'s wrong with this picture

There's a little hole in the filter. Now, that's pretty smart! Why didn't I think of something like that??? Grrrr. All this time I get a few handfuls of fluid when changing filters and now I see all it takes is a little hole and a drain pan. Again, I say Grrr!! That's what happens when you get raised by artists... no mechanical training whatsoever. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I'm with Bob999... if there is a hole in the filter, shouldn't the gauge be at zero?

It's ok to color outside the lines. Really. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Surely you didn't miss the second, smaller hole at the top of the filter - the vent /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Should I admit that it took me 7 filter changes to toss the fancy enamelled catch pan that didn't really fit under the filter and make a catcher that actually catches?

Then there's the patience issue of waiting until the filter finishes draining before pulling out the pan, but we won't go there. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Yep! We had no lines to start with so there was no problem there /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

And I saw the little mark at the top of the filter. Just didn't realize it went all the way through. Things are so easy when I have someone else think of them for me /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Yep. It should. You guys nailed it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It seems the gauge is too close to the exhaust for comfort - one side of the plastic housing caved in enough to keep the needle from zeroing. The next one will have a metal housing. On those days I'm not too extravagant for my own good I'm too cheap. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
