What's the difference between a 2185 & 2186 ?

I have a 2185 and there is a 2186 up for sale by me that doesn't run I was looking to get as a parts machine. It looks like the engine is the same Kohler CH18S as my 2185 and it has the same 48" deck. I can't seem to find a difference between the two other than the 2186 was available with other decks. Anyone out there know of anything that was different between the two ?

Look at the hydrostatic drive. I briefly looked at the parts books and they had different pumps and transmissions. 2185 had 3 serial number breaks so you would really need to use your serial number to find the right parts list and compare it to the 2186.

Thanks, I'll take a look at the hydros. There has to be something different or you would think they would keep the same model number.
