I've had my L3830 for a few years now. It came with a straight, solid metal bar with some holes in it, about 1"x2"x24", that slid into the rear of the tractor which I placed a ball on and used to tow trailers.

It's gone missing and I need to buy a new one. I *thought* it was called a drawbar, but noplace I've looked has anything like it. The only drawbars I can find are the other version that goes into a 3-point hitch. There was something else called a swinging drawbar, but it was nowhere near as heavy and was not straight.

So, anyone know what the actual name is and, even better, where I can find one?

I think that piece you are referring to was custom made . Was your tractor previously owned ?

No, it was brand-new from Kubota. As I recall, the owner's manual (which has also gone missing) showed how to install it.

Thats a draw bar you can probably get one cheaper at Rural King or TSC.

Tractor Supply has a solid flat bar that the rounded ends fit in the 3ph arms. It has holes in it to attach a ball or other things. When I bought mine a couple of years ago it wasn't that expensive.

You could check with a machine shop and ask how much they would want to make one. Assuming they had the appropriate bar stock on hand, they wouldn't have to do more than whack a piece off and drill a few holes in it.

Just curious, how did something like that go missing?

That's a good question. I clearly remember propping it up in the corner of the garage. Go back a few weeks later and it's not there. I suspect there's a child involved ...

Just bought one at TS. $28.00 + change inc tax. The one I bought is a 26". Things of this nature are sized/priced according to the HP of your tractor. Mine calls for catagory 1 stuff.

I think you and the OP are talking two different kinds of drawbars. :)

I look in my B2910 parts list. The item is called a Drawbar. If you have a parts list for your L3830 it should be on the Lower Link page near rear of parts list.

I called it a bar to fit in 3PH with holes to pull stuff with. Or drawbar. I bought this one at TSC for less than $30 and added the twisted hook to pull some disks that horses are supposed to pull. Here's pictures.

What do you mean "slid into the rear of the tractor?"

I have a 3 pt draw bar that I bought at Tractor Supply for about $50.

What he is talking about is probably not related to the 3pt hitch at all. Think of receiver and hitch on your truck, then imagine a similar receiver type opening under the tractor rear axle. This is where the referenced DRAWBAR is inserted, and the drawbar he is describing as needing is inserted at that point. It is pinned into the receiver just as a trailer hitch is pinned into the receiver on your truck.

This is at least what I gather from all the posts. I have two tractors, use both with a multitude of implements, and have never removed either drawbar from its location. I have chain hooks (from TSC) on both and I use them for pulling logs or towing. With a trailer ball, they would also work well for pulling a trailer if they were long enough to slide out closer to the outer edge of rear tires. Mine are drilled with multiple holes to allow variable lengths to accommodate multiple tasks, so they are easily slid (inward) out of the way, but always available on the tractor.

I would think the best sources are a tractor dealer or a machine shop. I am sure neither will be cheap.
