Finished a small project last night, can anyone guess what it's for (it's tractor related)?

It's used with a hitch to pull things, but it is not directly used to pull things.
It connects about 2 feet above the tractor drawbar, but not to it.

Yep, it's an adapter so I can use a "normal" cylinder as a hydraulic top link:

What are the added benefits of hydraulic over manually adjustable top link?

I find that it makes it easier to use pallet forks, or a round bale spear.
In this case, I have a forklift mast that I connect to the 3 point to stack round bales with. This lets me tilt it in and out easily.
