What's for supper???

So far my garden fence has held back the deer, racoons, rabbits and river otters. I don't think the otters are there to eat anything, more to wallow around and poop crab shells. I don't understand why, but about twice a week one will come up out of the water and go to the exact spot next to the garden fence every time, roll around and do its dirty business.

We canned a few green beans Saturday.

You are way ahead of us. Something eats our green bean leaves each year until about mid July. The plants are just now recovering, so hopefully by the end of Aug we should have some.

This area is not known for tomatoes, but I have selected varieties over the years that produce well here. They are coming on now fast and furious so I am starting to use them any way I can, including adding them to dog food :ROFLMAO:

Peanut butter french toast, butter, berries, and sugary liquid (formerly known as syrup). Folded eggs. Big glass of milk.

Broiled salmon with steamed veggies and rice pilaf.

Melted a stick of butter in a bowl, added 1 tsp of Old Bay and poured over salmon. Broiled until tender. Tasty.

Every night before I go to bed, I fix a plate of cat food for each of our cats and put them on the floor. When I get up in the morning, I usually find two clean plates. I got up the other morning and this was on the cleaned plate. Suggestions to the chef, perhaps? :ROFLMAO:

Times have changed for me. Used to eat potatoes, breads, pasta, rice, desserts. Went for my 50 year old firefighter physical and I was 292 lbs and officially diabetic - A1C 7.1. That was the shot across the bow - Dec 30, 2021. I've lost 60 pounds, down to 232. A1C is 5.5. Lots of veggies, salads, some fruit, plenty of protein - steak, chicken, beef, pork, bacon. Avoiding starches and carbs. Have 17 more pounds to go to my goal of 215. But enjoy looking at the foods I no longer eat!
