What's a Used BX25D Worth?

I sell the things, and there is merit to what he said. The guy was simply not sold the right tractor. A BX25 is not a bull-dozer and does not have power like a larger tractor does. He simply should have been sold something like a B2301TLB which is nearly the same footprint but with more tractory feeling for a guy with decades in the seat.

That said, I think your price is high. I retail them for about that. Pricing is regional though, you'll find a buyer about $1500 less than what the going cash price is in your area.

You can not transfer the 0% loan. There is no mention of how long you have had it, but if its been less than 90 days or so Kubota can be pretty flexible about letting you move into a bigger tractor and undo your current transaction. That's a case by case basis though, no promises.

There was a reason why I didn't go with a B Series although I cannot recall what It was. At the time I wanted TLB + mower and grapple. There was some reason why I couldn't get all that together.

I'm sorry to say you are probably going to take a hit on selling it. I'd say more than a 10% hit, maybe as much as 25%, hard to say. A lot of people will just want to buy new so you will have to discount it some.

As far as your complaints, some of its opinion, some of its probably real. I get your complaints, some people like things a certain way. I think the biggest problem is that someone that has run larger equipment, the BX series seems like a toy. To someone like me that was using a shovel and a wheel barrow, its seems like a more than adequate machine. The only thing I would really disagree on would be the fuel consumption. I was mowing with a gas powered riding mower and after I got my BX I noticed it was using much less fuel than my old rider. I think a larger machine is what it's probably going to take to make you happy.

I'm a Massey owner, not kubota, and it seems to me this is just a typical case of buyers remorse. The tractor did not live up to expectations, and then it's easy to start nit picking every little thing. IMO, The Massey GC is superior to the Kubota BX, but not by a lot, and Kubota has more/better implements/attachments/aftermarket than Massey does for sure.

My recommendation is that if the kubota Bx didn't do what you wanted, any similar size tractor, regardless of brand, probably will not either. Go up in size. That will of course have trade offs, increased size/weight/price.

You can't compare gas versus Diesel in fuel consumption as my 41 hp diesel uses less fuel than my 23 hp gas Simplicity did.

.

Exactly! That was my pain point. I did not have a Massey Dealer within 100 miles of me when I bought, AND Massey Didn't have any GC1720s within 4 states of me at that time. I also committed to buying a GC1720 over the phone and after the dealer took all my personal information for Finance, they called me back 1/2hr later and told me they sold it to some guy that just walked in. I basically said Fine, I will buy the Kubota then since that was the last tractor in the area.

I have never used a Kubota BX, but I have spent several hours on a very similar JD. IMO these size tractors just aren't made to be real work horses. They are more like a tough lawn mower. I agree with the OP on everything except fuel consumption.

I have used a Kubota BX. Several of them. They are real workhorses or mine have been and been using one today as a real workhorse. Now the next size up, the B series is a bit more of a workhorse and used several of them. The L series is even a bigger, tougher workhorse and only owned/used one of them. To say they compare to a lawnmower which I to have owned several over the years is foolish. I use Kubota Fs and Zs for mowing my yards and don't even have mowing decks on my Bs or BXs over the past 7 or 8 years. I have almost 6 hillside acres that was treed, gullied and rocky and I used the workhorse features of my BX2200, B7800, L3240, B3200, B2320, BX2350, BX2660, BX25 #1, B2620 FEL BH and BX25 #2 and the others. I pushed them to what I didn't think they would do and they just kept on going. Just my experience actually using the machines. No, they are not track loaders or bull dozers and to expect such is again foolish. They do usually run out of traction before they run out of power
Maybe we have different definition of workhorse but sure we see lawn mower the same..

if they are just tough lawn mowers than its the BEST lawnmower in the universe. I log with it, dug piers for footings, 500' of drainage pipe. Moved about 40 yards of dirt ,stone. Oh ya and mow my 2 acres every week. Lol

So, what did you do with it the second week you owned it? Looks like you "worked" it to me and obviously you. Believe there are thousands of us that have used, not sold them for a living, that will say they are able to "work". Some people think they have to justify themselves for getting rid of something but they don't. Should just fess up they screwed up and bought the wrong machine for the jobs they have without trying to degrade the inanimate object that others were a bit wiser and researched their options, income and needs and came up with the right machine. I picked the wrong machine my first time and it wasn't the machines fault, it was my fault because I thought it was a high priced lawnmower wit a high priced wheelbarrow on the front. It was a BX2200 FEL MMM 12 years ago and it was awesome having come from box store lawn mowers. I bought the wrong Kubota so in a year returned to Barlows and traded it to a B7800 FEL and BX1500 MMM. Worked those two (no longer expecting one machine to be great at all things) for three years doing an incredible amount of land excavating/landscaping and continued trading often after that as job needs changed and money availability and just because I like trading in some cases.
BX workhorse? Yes, but not as capable as a bigger, heavier machine like a bigger B which isn't as capable as a bigger heavier L3240 and I never expected the BX to be but after my first purchase I started researching to help determine the right choice for my needs which are ever changing.
