Re: What\'s a 2005 Case D35 going for?
Well..
Here's a little more info for you. the Dealer I am speaking of sells both Kubota & CaseIH. I'll be using the tractor for snow removal, firewood as well as some occasional hay mowing/raking at my grandmothers farm.
I went to the dealer to try out a Kubota
L3400. I pretty much had my mind made up to go with that tractor, FEL, manual tranny, pretty basic. I took the Kubota for a ride around the yard & was very impressed at how much bigger it feels, than it looks. I have about $16000 that I want to spend.
So, we're on our way back into the building to talk pricing on the Kubota & he shows me the CASE.
It has several options that I like over the Kubota.
1) QA bucket.
2) A little more lift cap on the FEL, as well as a bigger bucket.
3) 12 x 12 SYNCHRO SHIFT, the Kubota is not.
4) Weight. It tips the scales at over 500lbs more than the kubota. This would help where I need to use it. Better traction.
5) Size. It is taller, more comfortable & is wider, which will help with stability. I have 135 acres of property & it's mostly hilly, rocky & treed out.
On the other hand,
The Kubota has:
1) About the same amount of HP.
2) Really close to the same amount of Hydro lift.
3) Warranty.
4) Better financing, ie.. low rate Kubota financing vs higher bank financing.
My plan is to have A tractor by the end of March, 2006. That's when I'll have about $2000 to smack down on it. I will be in close contact with the dealer soon, so I will look into the case a bit more. Although I do want to go with a NEW machine to last me a LONG time, I don't want something that I'm going to outgrow either. I want to do this once.
