I think I have this figured out, I just want to make sure before I order the hose. This is off my father-in-laws Ford/New Holland 7108 front end loader. I think it's a #8 JIC female swivel connection. Inside measurement with a caliper shows .690. The New Holland parts web site just lists it as a 3/4 x 16. Is this the same thing? Hose is marked as a 3/8 with a working pressure of 2500 psi. I'm going to order this from "Surplus Center"

https://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?UID=2156123018255702&item=931-2224&catname=hydraulic

I'm I close...........or out chasing rabbits?

Thanks....Mark

If the link doesn't work it's item # 991-2224

Thanks for the replies guys. I ordered the hose from Surplus Center yesterday. I will let you know how it turns out.

Kenn.... I see you have a Gator also. I bought one two years ago and my wife took it away from me. So I went out and bought another one, now I have two. I love those things.

If you are buying Hydraulic Hose Fittings to join hoses one thing to remember is that all fittings are not machined the same. If you are buying fittings from a Surplus Outlet they might be Aviation or Military Surplus.

Normally low pressure applications as used in a lot of tractors utilize a (SAE) 45 degree mating surfaces whereas high pressure applications used in aviation use (JIC or Mil Spec) 37 degree mating surfaces. Both the bevel on the male fitting and the seat in the female fitting should be machined to either 45 degrees or 37 degrees. You can sometimes get away with a mismatch with a low pressure hydraulic system but you will have a leaker with a high pressure system.

Good luck,
Jim
