What tree is this?

I am trying to find the name of this tree. Hard wood, looks like oak, leaves - see the picture. Ideas, anybody? Thanks!

It's an Oak red or pin oak

Cherry leaves would have small "teeth" around the edge of the leaf. Hard to tell from the one pic, but those leaves look smooth on the edge. I agree the bark does not look like cherry as well. The closest thing I can find in my Audobon Field Guide to North American trees is the Laurel Oak. This tree grows in a fairly narrow band along the southeast and gulf coasts. Looks like Live Oak. Does Live Oak grow in your area?
