With a double 6k axle trailer, you are at 13200 with the 10% tongue weight
I have hauled just my tractor on my 18' car trailer.
That is over limit for the trailer because my rear tires are filled adding 1200 pounds

I don't think that applies to the tow rating. It would apply for payload & GCWR (gross combined) but the total weight of the trailer & cargo is what applies to the tow capacity ... that's how I understand it anyways.

... Just something to think about... why get a 14k conventional trailer if your truck isn't rated for it anyhow?
My reason for considering the 2 7.5K axles was because that was the trailer the dealer had and it would take 2 weeks to get the 6K axles trailer (he does 6.2 instead of 5k's) and his price was inline with what I have seen others on the 5k axles. One reason someone may want to consider 7.5K is the load safety margin (10 ply tires). Just cause one gets the 14k rated trailer doesn't mean they have to put that much weight on it and should be fine as long as a person didn't go over the rated weight capacity of the tow vehicle. For my purposes, though, it did seem overrkill and I am going to order the 6.2K axles with 6" steel construction instead of 5" and am now debating as to whether to spend $300 extra to get a 20'+2' versus an 18'+2'.

I agree, I was just pointing out that a 6k axle trailer will carry more than most hitches will hold.
My car trailer has 3500 axles and weighs 2500
That gives me 7700 with 10% tongue
5200 after trailer weight subtracted
I use it to haul hot rods not tractors normally

Safety margin is a good point. For my shopping, going up to the 14k added about $600 in cost up front, plus another $250 or so considering extra taxes and higher registration fees for the heavier tractor (different weight class).

So for me, spending 25% more for a 14k trailer, especially when my truck can't bumper pull it, and it adds extra towing weight anyhow ... wasn't worth it.

I agree with the safety margin aspect.
I just went through the same trailer debate.
The only problem with the 6k axle and 7k axle trailers is the actual weight of the trailers because of heavier components.
They weigh around 3500 to 4500 which only leaves you 5500 to 6500 for payload.
I try to keep trailers at 80% capacity or less.
