FarmwithJunk I finally found something you are wrong on. My dad had a WD-45 till I was about 7 years old and that is the one in the picture, of all the people that would have gotten it wrong I would not have bet on you. You have let me down!

The only WD 45 I'm familiar with is a diesel, late production. They were quite a bit different around the cowl area and steering column. Take a look at a WD. They look IDENTICAL to the picture you posted. It even appears simular to the older WC series.

But it does appear I was wrong. Oh well.... Not the first time , won't be the last.

This particular one was a very late model WD45 gas but instead of the normal WD engine it hd a D-series engine int it, if I am not mistaken it was a D-17 engine.

This is one where you can both be right. A WD in the early years had a straigh gear stick and a WD-45 had the curves stick like the one in the picture, but the last year of production the WD also had a curved gearstick so it could be either. BUT! it is definitly a WD or a WD-45

I know for a fact it is a WD-45, that pic was used in my wife and I's wedding video last year and I saw it the other day so I put this little quiz on here. Dad and I are thinking of finding another WD-45 (maybe a wide front instead of a tricycle) and fully restoring it.

Not argueing with you , it was your tractor. I'm just saying from what you can see of the pic it would be impossible to disprove it as a 1953 WD or a 1956 WD-45. The pic doesn't show enough detail to prove or disprove either way. That is probably why FWJ called it.
You standing on the seat will tell any AC guy that it is a WD-WD-45. You are standing on the left half of the seat and are centered on the sterring wheel, and on all the WD line the wheel is ofset from the seat.
It's neat to have the old pics isn't it? I have some of my son play driving an old Oliver 60 I had in the mid 70's, and on a M John Deere I had at the same time. He scanned them in and has them as wallpaper on his comp. Later, Nat
