What to buy?

I just bought a 33 acre place with a 3 acre pond. It has about 4 acre to mow and a driveway about one quater of a mile long. I live in the snow belt. Any suggestions what I should get for the lawn and to take care of snow in the winter.

Have you consider Kubota /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif B2400,B2700,B2900,for these are all sweet compact tractors,and it seems like most people are purchasing them.

Ahhh yes sounds like you just started to do your home work towards a tractor purchase,/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gifbut don't forget to have fun while figuring out what to purchase also ask as many questions.

Take a look at the new JD4700 with 4wd and hydro or PowReverser transmission. Or the JD5210 with 4wd and PoweReverser transmission. http://www.deere.com

Depending totally on you but a 25 plus with a front blower and cab and a 60 or 72" belly mower would work fine. I do believe everyone needs a loader as a year around tool so make sure you can have both subframes on all the time for Quicker hook-ups.

I have a JD 4100 hydrostatic with 60 inch belly mower, 450 rototiller, and 54 inch front plow. I mow about 5-7 acres of lawn with it, plow snow (with turf tires), and rototill a large garden. It works great. I am now looking at buying a bigger additional tractor for heavy pasture mowing work, as the 4100 is just not up to that. I thought about trading the 4100 for a 4600/4700, but thought they would be too big for agile mowing. I have to cut around a lot of obstacles, and find the 4100 to be just right. I have about 150 hours on it so far, and it has been totally reliable, except for a bad SCV valve.
