Yes... Poor little guy;-) Never heard of a Chipmunk boring holes similar to those in question.

In the wrong place at the wrong time. We've always enjoyed having them around outside. I suppose they can be destructive to a garden. But I've never heard of them boring into wood, or even taking up residence in a building as mice will do.
