What the heck is making these holes?

The traps and flour and all other suggestions are with good intent - and maybe I missed it - but why not use a good old fashioned glue trap like the ones made by Tomcat? That way - whatever is taking the bait is going to 'stick around' for when you return.

Well, if they are indeed tiny extraterrestrials, the last thing Check wants is get them stuck in a glue trap. Especially since he doesn't get up to the cabin very frequently. Can you imagine how upset they might get?

Not to mention the fact that glue traps make for a tortuous death. I bought them once, and certain members of my family made me take them back.
