What the heck is making these holes?

... Com-on Diggin It! If they were gravity holes, the boat house would be going straight down, not sideways. You must have been thinking about "leaner holes", now those can cause some real problems?

Anyone know how to set up a "Go Fund Me Page"? Thinking one could be used to set up a fund for Check so he can go buy a dang game camera. There is a Bass Pro Shop right in Toronto, they have plenty...

James, I have a buddy living in Toronto that I see every couple months or so when he and I meet up at a sales meeting/conference, etc. I could give him my game cam to loan you for a couple months and all you have to do is position it and turn it on. Then after a couple of months, you retrieve it, return it to my buddy... he transfers it back to me and I do the photo forensics. This way we will have third party validation of the phenomena. How does that sound? ...or buy a dang game cam!

One of my rear tractor tires has a dozen or so little holes ( about 1/8 inch in diameter) in the sidewall that look just like powder post beetle holes, usually found in wood. I looked up powder post beetles on the web, and it turns out that there are little beetles , very similar to powder post beetles , that will eat into a sidewall crack . They're looking for organic materials to eat, such as mold, moss, etc. that will grow in the sidewall cracks. It amazes me that they can eat the rubber too. Their holes don't seem to be quite deep enough to penetrate the sidewall and the tube inside the tire, but I do think they could cause a leak in a tubeless tire that has thin cracks from rubber deterioration. I need to buy a new tire , since my liquid ballast is leaking out of one of those cracks with a bore hole in it.

With all these holes just appearing everywhere, it's a good thing you all don't live on houseboats.

im not sure if anyone posted this already as im am not one to sit and ready 5000 pages of a post.

my self i am a carpenter by trade, i have seen a pic on one page i skimmed through quick sir they look to be knot holes. over the years the knots pop and drop out. if theyre pine floor boards, theyre perfect size shape and you said "smooth"

if someone has already laid this wisdom on you and you knwo this isnt the case well i am forced to say i dont know and its probably a dirty spirit which is following you, good luck sir, and watch your step, spirit holes be nearest:shocked:

And did I miscount, or are there now 15 holes whereas there were only 13 before?

2 more holes is a game changer!!!! Time to sell and get out, it's obviously invasive and will not rest until it takes over!!!!

Before I believed it's just knot holes, I'd scrape a layer or two of dirt from a board to check the grain.

Wear on wood floor (see upper L corner of 2nd pic, post #338) suggests heavy traffic through doorway.

Maybe a steel-wheeled cart or dolly of old wore a 'limited' path, contained by whatever was perhaps lag-bolted to floor to right of doorway.

IMO a possible hole 'pattern' on floor hints that something was mounted where lack of traffic minimized 'erosion' on the area less worn.

Plugs in floor holes since equipment was removed continue to fall out due to seasonal extremes of moisture/humidity and temps.

My guess is as good as mine any day. :)
