I have seen people with GR machines list GR2728, GR2707 and I think a few others. Does anyone know what the differences are? Do the numbers mean anything? I will be possibly getting a used GR2120 this weekend and want to see if I can find a used snowblower for it over the next few months, but not sure which one I should be looking for. Any suggestions of what to look for or look-out for greatly appreciated.

TIA,
Steve

I bought my GR2120 new in June 2013 along with a GR2728 snow blower. There was an update to the fan and hub of the snow blower, but I do not know if that made the model number change. My GR2728 has the updated fan and hub. Philip.

You'll want to be sure to get the subframe to hook to the tractor too, the blower is one piece, the sub-frame/quick front hitch is another....and is probably harder to find used, but you can get from the dealer new if you have $$$.
You can also look on kubota's website to see what attachments fit your machine.
goto kubota.com, choose US if your in the US, clicks on parts->illustrated parts->agree->type in your model (GR2120) and next to the model will be "local options", if you hit that it will show you all the attachments for that tractor. THe only blower shown is the 2707 two stage 48" blower. The subframe parts are part of the blower parts, but it is NOT part of the blower when you go to buy it, it's a separate kit because you can put the blade or sweeper on the same subframe/hitch.

Thanks, That is good information to make sure I get all the parts and I may not have realized it. Thanks! Agreed, I may end up having to buy some or all new. That looks like a pretty heavy duty setup. I am guessing it is raised and lowered by the hydraulics? It does seem like people have a few different model numbers but as mentioned above the 2707 is the only one listed in the brochure.

It is raised with hydraulics. Uses the same lever/valve as the mower lift. If you look closely on the passenger side, you will see a hose, coupling, and cylinder. Philip.

Thanks. I did pick up that used GR2120 last weekend. 2014, 400 hrs and looks like new. Runs beautiful, power steering and glide steer are amazing, heavy duty 54" mower deck but... I will say that I am a little surprised that it did stop on some of the very steep hills (even with mower off). While I had read some of that on here it always seemed to be the older units and I thought (or maybe hoped) that it was fixed by 2014. The traction is amazing but it just stops, without any slowing down of the engine. Granted the hill may have been 40ish degrees, hard to judge that but pretty much as steep I would go without fear of tipping over backwards, but one of the main reasons for a 4 wheel drive is when you have hilly terrain. Do you have a similar issue? Should it be able to spin the wheels? (on dry ground). I plan to change the fluid and filter but curious as to what I should expect? I also tried pushing the pedal less as people act like that should help, kind of like a lower gear, but that didn't help and I found pushing it more gave it more power. I also saw the issue people had mentioned about the reverse pedal not having enough travel so I jury rigged that by removing one of the bolts to give it more throw and adjusted the stops a little, this helped a bit, but still would not make it up the hill. I was really hoping this would be a "go anywhere" tractor. Any thoughts?
Steve.

I have never tried driving straight up a 40 degree steep hill, pretty flat here. I do mow a pond bank, but I mow that back and forth, then at the end I make a hard left and drive right up the bank. I have never needed to spin the tires on dry or wet grass, they have spun on snow and ice. Philip.

I had a GR2110 for a while, that climbed a ~45degree hill without issue. I believe the only difference btw the 2110 and 2120 is they replaced the problematic glidesteer cables with straight rods.
If it just stops, you might check your hydraulic fluid level in the case, you may be starving the hst unit of fluid. Also, some people seem to like to put cheap ATF (red or brown) in some of these hst tractors too, no idea why you buy a multi-thousand dollar machine and save $10 on fluid..but they do.....if it's not super UDT (should be almost clear) or at least real hydraulic fluid..it's likely to act up. I used to drive that 2110 up 50 degree ramps into my 4x4 pickup bed too, went right up, no issues.

If performing HST fluid and filter change, remember to remove inlet screen and clean it too. Philip.

I will do that, full fluid and filter change and screen clean and hopefully it will improve. I already ordered all the name brand Kubota stuff. It is not terrible now that I tweaked that reverse pedal and the stops by the pedal, but I expected it to be better. One other issue I have is some uncut strips when mowing the high coarse grass but I think it is due to the wheels flattening it down and it does not spring back up in time. Not sure why I didn't have this issue with the old mower, maybe the weight? Or not enough lift on the blades. The grass was pretty high so it may be packing that deck as well and I am likely going a little faster since it is not bogging down.

Back onto snowblowers, local dealer says snowblower for the GR2120 is the GR2846A. But holy s$%t, its almost $3500 ! That's a crazy amount of money for this. Even if I leave off weights and weight mount and install it myself it is still over $3100. I am starting to think I bought the wrong machine. Normally I do my research better but I guess I trusted Kubota. I do think this machine would be great for blowing snow even though it sucks for mowing high grass but I don't think I want to invest this much more. I'll keep my eyes open for something used but that seems pretty rare.

Anyone know of a cheaper snowblower that easily adapts to this machine? Does this price seem in line with what people here are paying?
TIA,
Steve.

I have a G2546B blower assembly that appears very similar to the photos of the unit shown in the earlier post.
I do not know if it is a slide on fit to your machine. You will need to ask about the compatibility details. I can read the specs from the operators and parts manual and make measurements for you.

The unit I have is in "As New" condition. Never used, but moved a few times.

I'm in S E Vermont.

Yours for $650 ;-)

In 2013 I paid $2239 for my GR2718 snowblower (including frame). No fancies, manual chute rotator and manual deflector. The weights are not necessary for me, the 4WD makes up for it in my case. Try getting competitive quotes from other dealers, Barlows, Messicks. It is an awesome snowblowing machine. I don't think their are any easily adaptable units out there, think you would be asking for much work, headaches, and wasted money. Philip.

Thanks Guys, Well its good to know it works well and you don't need the weights. Yes, I'll have to get some other quotes. CalG, $650 sounds great, I am just not sure if it would fit. I'll have to do some research. SE Vermont is not too far. Is it shaft drive and hydraulic lift? Since it is G and not GR I suspect it may be too different. But I'll see what I can find out. If you have any pics you can send that would be great.

Thanks, Steve.

Thanks, looks like it works well! **** expensive though! Sure would be nice though to have a 4wd super maneuverable snowblower!

I can get some pictures next Friday. (I work from dawn to dark Mon-Thur)

I'm sure some sort of mounting adaptation would be required. The original lift was mechanical for the design application.
I'm sure the parts could be purchased from Kubota as well.
The unit is front PTO driven. So, shaft drive with a gear and chain speed reduction suited for about 2000 rpm input (Std Kubota front pto speed.)
