Tractor
yanmar YM-1700
what size tires would be on a ym-2700 ?
I'm helping to keep an eye out for new member Ron67 and found what looked to be a decent tractor, although the tires on this tractor look to large,

Hmmm! after posting up the picture it shows rather large and looking at the wheels, somthing looks out of place. The tractor itself doesn't look like a fresh recond like you might see, looks pretty typical of a cleaned up tractor.
what you guy's think?
BTW its another CL special

what size tires would be on a ym-2700 ?... the tires on this tractor look too large,
It doesn't make any difference on a 2wd. My rear tires are the next size (width) beyond what Yanmar used. The tractor doesn't know the difference. You just choose a different gear than you would use with 'stock' tires. With really big tires the road speed might be scary fast in 8th gear at top rpm - so don't do that! I can't imagine that thing running out of torque in low-low.

Actually for 27 pto hp, those tires look about right. The tread looks to be American ag tires, not the high-cleat rice tires that would have been original. Some prior owner probably did what was apparently done on my tractor, just grabbed whatever was available that day.

Note that the 2700 is one of the few models with more limited parts support. (but getting better). I think this applies to any YM Yanmar with the air cleaner through the hood and the exhaust on the left. (now I'll probably get corrected again. :D) So check this one over thoroughly. If it looks solid it should be good for many years. Mine didn't look near that good when I bought it in 2003 and so far the only part I've replaced (after an initial month remedying a lot of neglected and botched stuff) was a 75 cent rollpin.

looking at it those boots look too big for that tractor, i would say that they are not its original sized rim and tyres. i would expect to see 14 or 15" fronts and maybe 24 or 26" rears on that tractor

what grabbed my attention to the tires were the rake of the tractor looking high in the rear, and also not much room to step onto the running board, then I took a closer look at the front tires and they look as though stick out a bit past the front bumper, I'm sure this has not much to do with the use of the tractor, its that the tires just seem too large, I had plan some time in the near future changing the rear on my 1700 but only 1 size up, Ron67 are you interested in this?
it is located in the nth Ga. area,

That thing in the seat grabbed my attention. I'd have that poltergeist removed before anything else

they look like tires off an 8n or something bigger. Yes its a bigger tractor but probly has just one size bigger than a 2500 which i think is one bigger if not just wider than a 2000. I too say there bigger than stock in front and back, but like cal pointed out it dont really matter. those are diff rims too. does hoye list the wheels?

Happen to own 2 of those models. And use a ym2500 now. Not even close. Those things are Huge. I didn't think there would be that much difference in the 2500 to the 2700 intil I started looking hard at the Motor, Gas tank ,Dash. exhaust on the other side, Air cleaner etc. What the Bleeeeeeeeeep is that:confused: I couldn't believe there would be that much difference in them.

I inquired about this tractor, I found it on the Gon forum I think!
it can be had for 3500, I have another picture from the backside, and these tires stick way way out there.... of coarse the driver will have to be possessed again :D

Looks like the front wheels have been dished out. I would be wary of that tractor. May be a recon.

Wow! check out the clutch. Looks like you have to step on the bar/pedal to engage or disengage it.I wonder if thats factory? The front wheel is missing two lugs and still haven't figured out how they extended the rear axle. Looks like they done something with the hubs? I'm begining to wonder if this is the good side or not. If the other side is anything like this side it's a major Ghetto Rig.

If you can see that good and only One is missing, Then how did you not see the Decompression linkage is not right just laying there steering also. Looking at it closer, now I have a even better idea how bad the other side is. The rears are spun still does it look to be that much I don't think so. I"ve been wrong about things before And I may very well be on this one.
