I recently purchased a M7060 after having run a 6 foot 3pt BushHog behind an MX5100 for the last 5 years. The dealer said he wouldn't recommend anything bigger than an 8 foot pull type behind the M7060. That doesn't sound right to me - I'm thinking up to 12 foot batwing. Maybe something like the LP RC2512. I have moderate hills to mow. What do you all think?

In my mind, that 12 footer would be the perfect mower.

Yes, and they have to order the 8 footer so it's not like he's trying to sell something on the lot.

I'm looking at the Bushhog 1812 Flex wing which is 3200 lbs and the LandPride RC2520, 2500 lbs Both are rated at 1-1/2 maximum cut
The Bushhog looks pretty stout which I suppose accounts for the added weight.

LandPride is owned by Kubota. Seems like there should be some charts to see recommended attachments.

Over the seven years of owning the M6040 I seen a lot of varied opinions on maximum implement size for my tractor. My owners manual - which also covers the M7040 - recommends 84" and 1200# as being max size rotary cutter for both M6040 & M7040.

My concern has always been - to get a heavy duty rotary cutter - example Brown or Bush Hog - its not so much the PTO HP that limits my choice as it is the companies recommendations for maximum implement weight. I guess it has a lot to do with how "hard" you will be using the implement.

Anyhow - I continue to muddle on and, I guess, one day I may purchase a rotary cutter.

BTW - your Operators Manual for your new M7060 should have a page titled - "Implement Limitations".

It will easily pull a 12', foreman Etexas pulls one with his M7040. His is a pull type though.

what is the pto hp requirements of the LP RC2512? what is your pto hp, around 62-65? then take into consideration heavy growth, etc. & be ready to keep the blades sharp. that's where i'd start does that batwing model require 2 remotes? do you have 3 for good measure? good luck
