with that setup you can mow 8 to 10acs an hour more or less depending speed an the pasture.so id say $10 an ac or more.its hard to really because you dont know what people are willing to pay,an you have to make some money.

I'm down in southeast Texas and not very many people do it

Then I would charge more. U have to include all expenses fuel oil changes filters and any break down that u WILL acure like flats and hoses and blades. If ur not charging enough to cover all that then its not worth ur time doing it. Don't get me wrong cuz I mow on the side and hire people to run the tractors for me while im at work and u can make good money at it but just don't cut urself short. Best of luck with it and keep us posted on how its going.

You need to know your costs in order to answer your question.

Do you want to cover your variable costs (e.g., fuel, maintenance, allowance for repairs, your time, travel/transportation to/from job sites, etc.)? If so, what are those costs ($/acre or hour)?

Do you want to cover your prorated fixed costs (depreciation, interest on your equipment investment, insurance, property taxes, etc.)? If so, what are those costs ($/acre or hour)?

Do you want to cover your total costs (variable + fixed)?

Do you want to earn a profit? If so, how much ($/acre or hour)?

Depending on the competition and your potential customers, you may be able to either (a) cover your variable costs and a portion of your fixed costs, (b) cover your total costs, or (c) earn a profit. If you can't cover your varaible costs, forget about it.

I would pick something like $25 an acre and then cost it out over a few jobs and see if you are close. Keep in mind the cost of fuel. I paid $3.42 at the low cost station today.
