James K0UA,

Thank you! I was telling mywife the level of info here on TBN is amazing, and there are all these guys who have already walked the path we are on and I can learn SO MUCH from you guys. THANK YOU!

So... 1) I will try to go look at the MX5100 today. I got a quote on the BC CT450 yesterday. Kioti is a bit farther away, I will go check them out though.

2) Using a Dealer in KY? I'm sure there must be a charge to deliver out of state? I never even considered going to a remote dealer as so many here have advocated liking the dealer is part of choosing the tractor. I'm VERY curious about this option.

3) SSQA? Aren't these standard? All the buckets seem to be quick attach I thought. Or am I being ignorant? I agree, I MUST have quick and easy attach.

As to becoming part of TBN, I hope someday I can be as helpful as all o y'all have been to me. I'm here to stay.

Thanks again,
David

Not all QuickAttach they also have pin type, QA is great but if your only going to use the bucket and not get anything else for the loader(grapple, forks, etc.)then you wont need QA. I think you will like the grandL Kubotas tractors(bells&whistles) but the mx4900&mx5100 are good tractors too....... I think you'll find the one at the "BOTA" dealer:thumbsup: Did you look up the web site I suggested to give you an idea on the kubota prices?

MossflowerWoods, I belong to several forums, but this is the only one I visit regularly. I have operated tractors for over fifty years, but came here for information and advice on my last two purchases. Too many have helped me to mention them all.

Bigbull338 owns an MX5100 and is very happy with it; some others do, but I forgot their names. I agree with James the MX5100 is a really good basic tractor.

...I think I can afford to pay that price (at least I hope I can).
The tractor is the tip of the iceberg... You should be rolling implements into the package price so you can have the "0%" finance. Larger tractor = Bigger implements $...

foreman Etexas,

I missed the link the first time. I saw it this time. Is the M5040 a 2010 model? I could not find it at Kubota's web site...

Thanks again!

teg,

Most have told me the 0% is only for "branded" stuff, so basically for the tractor.

If I can bundle, I will!

flusher,

CLEAR as a bell sir! It helped very much!

I am adding 2 remotes to my list of "Must Mods" for the dealer. Plus the welded hooks and bucket reinforcement someone mentioned.

THANK YOU!

PS - Good looking tractor!

Super. And thanks--I like my big tractor a lot (I have 5 other smaller size vintage tractors in various stages of restoration).

BTW: look at the 3rd photo in my last post--you'll see an expanded metal protective screen I attached to the ROPS using hose clamps (it's a safety no-no to drill or weld on the ROPS structure). Gives me peace of mind when I have that 6-ft brush hog spinning away behind my backside. Those mowers can toss stuff a long ways, so be careful out there. You can get this screen at Home Depot, metal supplier or weld shop. Very inexpensive protection.

I just got back from the local 'Bota shop... I'm still dissapointed...

1st he tried to tell me all o-y'all had given me bum advice and tried to get me into a smaller tractor. Then he tried to sell me an M7040 shuttle shift which I thought was too big. The only MX5100 he had was a std shift.

He ended up quoting me on a L4740HST and a L5740HST (which he can't get until Oct, or I have to ship it from ~200 miles away).

I'm still digesting the specs compared to the BC CT450 last night (but at first glance the 'Bota comes up short). The 4740 is also over $4000 MORE with only 60 months financing. The 5740 is simply too much $$$ for me...

Kioti is next, but I might end up doing it across the internet, I've got a TON of work to do because I finally got a renter from one fo my homes...

So...

Still shopping, but I'm leaning towards the BC. I checked and cannot find a LS dealer nearby with any inventory.
