Wow, 1st bad advice on trailers, and even more bad advice on oils. Think you need to move out of Jacksonville Alabama to broaden your think pool. I suggest you drive to Houston Texas, there you will find automotive stores, or even a Walmart that will carry a modern 'C' rated 15w-40 or 5w-40 HDEO (heavy duty engine oil). There are many good brands out there, but you cannot go wrong with Shell Rotella 15w-40 or 5w-40, or Mobil Delvac 15w-40, or Mobil 1 5w-40. Worse comes to worse, go to a local Caterpillar dealer, they will have the right oil. Any TSC's, Rural King, or similar around you? Even a John Deere dealer will work. DO NOT us an oil that is ONLY 'S' rated for gasoline engines. Many HDEO oils are fleet rated, and will carry both 'S' and 'C' ratings, so do not be concerned with that. Do a search, many threads on this topic. Good luck. Philip.

LOL! Thanks Phillip......your right, apparently there are idiots concentrated all around me. I bought Rotella 15W-40 Synthetic, so now I'm on track. Glad I didn't go ahead and take their advice about regular motor oil. Thanks for the advice, and information. I should be an expert on trailers and maintenance before I die at the very least!!!!:smurf:

FYI, Rotella T 15w-40 IS NOT synthetic. Rotella T6 5w-40 IS synthetic. (T5 is a 15w-40 semi-synthetic) Read the label. Good luck. Philip.

I just changed my oil on Saturday and put in the T6. Today I needed to scoop a foot of snow. I was amazed at how much quieter and smoother the engine ran right at the outset. I will keep using this stuff! And I've heard that the HST gets a lot quieter with synth as well. I'll be giving that a try when the change is due. The T6 in the engine is amazing.

I did the exact same thing....it does run quieter and seems smoother! I'm sold on synthetic....well worth the money.:smurf:

i would run a 15w40 diesel oil.. or a 5w40 synthetic.

you COULD find some 10w30 C rated oil.. it's more common up north.. however I still think the 5w40 C rated synthetic for down here in the south will serve you good.

my 3 powerstroke diesels are going great on it.

forget the gasser oil in a diesel...
