Just bought a used 4310 ehydro with loader. How often should I grease and what brand of grease?

Grease the loader every ten hours and the tractor every twenty-five . I use Mobil 1 grease on everything.

Does this mean I have to get up in the middle of the night to grease mine.

Maybe I'll just do it before I go to bed and then again first thing in the morning while the coffee is brewing

Me too!!! I have a routine of letting the dog out about 10 PM and greasing the tractor, fel and backhoe then calling the dog back in.


Seriously though I use marine red grease on most things but I think having a good routine with frequency is more important than the brand.

I've been using Mobil 1 synthetic for 4-5 years now. I needed to change over to a grease (and oil) that wouldn't set up like concrete when it gets down to -40F.

I'm not very concerned with "added protection" for all those +100F days...

The type of grease used is far less important than the frequency of greasing. There is no 'bad' grease. The important thing is to grease often enough to keep dirt and grit flushed from pivot areas; and to keep zerks from plugging up with contaminated, hardened grease.
