Just brought this home as a "teach the kids about old mechanical things" and now I'm not sure what exactly this is. The tractor looks like an original Broadmoor, but has an 8hp Briggs. (Model 19707, Type 0132-01, Code 6910161) Don't have it running yet as the fuel petcock is broken off in the closed position. However, I got it to fire by shooting carb cleaner in the cylinder via the sparkplug hole. My question is, do you think this is the original engine?
Also, this looks like it used to have electric start some time. However, it's a pull start now (doesn't bother me as its for "fun"). However, it looks like the hood was made for a pull rope. I found two model #s ( 990287 and 990288) referencing standard and deluxe, but the serial number is worn off.
Any help/info on this is greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has any ideas of the value of this, I'm all ears as I don't want to have the kids learning on something which might have some value and we end up goofing it up.
PS - I have the grill, just had to remove it to get to the spark plug.
