Before 8 tracks, before 4 tracks, a friend of mine moved back from California in 1964 with a very nice 1954 Ford that he had a 45 player in. Everyone thought this was the coolest thing they ever saw.

'74 anything came from the factory that way. That had to be the worst time period for automobiles. Back then 100K was like 300K now. By that time you would have changed the points about 10 times, set the timing at least twice that much. Valve guides by 50k, and oil changes every three. Often you would have added at least a quart by then, if not 2 quarts.For my 1st car, that 74 Mustang 2 with rust holes so big I could reach into the car without opening the door. $650 bucks. Sounds cheap, but making $2.85 an hr. working early morning before school was quite an effort. The most important upgrade was my 8 track deck and my Realistic speaker set from Radio Shack.

anybody remember 4 track? that wasn't around for long.
