My 1st 45 rpm record. I’m sure I still have it in a box somewhere in the shed.

thx for that, never heard that version. we play that song at our jams all the time.

i love the old blues songs, especially the lyrics.

Can you imagine nowadays

"There's a one eyed cat, sneaking round the sea food store"?

For my 1st car, that 74 Mustang 2 with rust holes so big I could reach into the car without opening the door. $650 bucks. Sounds cheap, but making $2.85 an hr. working early morning before school was quite an effort. The most important upgrade was my 8 track deck and my Realistic speaker set from Radio Shack.
anybody remember 4 track? that wasn't around for long.

How about some of the popular educational, motivational and inspirational songs of old? My kids would never have remembered the war of 1812 if I had never played Horton’s song, Battle of New Orleans. Even with home schooling and private school, American history was kinda vague. It’s my understanding now that it’s currently not taught at all.

great song! time to sweat!

Well, a bit off topic, but related to the posts here about "Jeremiah the Bull Frog". Many, many years ago when I was more durable we would sometimes have a few adult beverages - well too many sometimes. Anyway, one rough morning after a night out at a client's club, as I emptied my pockets I found a piece of paper on which was written "Jeremiah is a Bull Frog" in my handwriting. What the H..? It made no sense that morning and made no sense for days - but it haunted me - could not get that out of my head for a few weeks or longer. Then one evening we were back in the same club and they were passing out slips of paper asking for requests for the band.

Before 8 tracks, before 4 tracks, a friend of mine moved back from California in 1964 with a very nice 1954 Ford that he had a 45 player in. Everyone thought this was the coolest thing they ever saw.
