I had a guy who worked for me that had explain everything starting with how he made coffee that day.

I continually asked him to explain in 20 words or less, I eventually fired him due to lack of productivity.

For a minute I thought you were talking about my brother. The difference is that he get's things accomplished, then has to give a blow by blow of everything he did and why he did it. He's now the consulting editor on one of the most respected books on boating...

My wife does that but she gets a pass, she was raised by an Evangelical Minister who loved to talk. But that is one calling where that is a good thing.

If she is like mine, she's sure earned some passes!

I think your Grandfather was right on. I have a theory about women; that they are special and should be treated as such; at least until they prove that they don't deserve it. IMHO, there's nothing much lower than a man who mistreats a women or children.

I have acquired the habit of complimenting waiters/waitresses when they give good service, and I do it sincerely. You might be surprised at the reaction you get from them; I get the impression that although they receive the customary tip, they do not often receive a verbal compliment...and for the most part, they take it gracefully with great humility.
