We've had a Standard Schnauzer, a black Lab, a couple of different terriers, a couple of mixed breed pit bulls, a mixed breed Rotweiler, a Springer Spaniel, a Doberman -- and I would not have a single one of them over again. After our first rescued Greyhound, we now have two, and I doubt we will ever be without one again.
One is a timid female, not a whole lot of playful fun, but loyal to a fault and a joy to walk. The other is an exuberant male whose tail is a weapon as he wags it. Absolutely gentle temperament, little care, no shedding, rarely bark, walk on a leash like they were born to it, couch potatoes who love to run but usually for about 5 minutes, then they want to lay down and not move. The only thing that's tough is two of them in a motor home without a slide-out; our next coach will definitely have slide-outs so we can walk around the dogs.
