What is this element in my yanmar ym1610dt?

hello friends, I disassembled the dashboard of my yanmar 1610dt and I find this element that is not what it is or what it does.

Can you help identify it?

Looks like it might be the flasher unit for hazard lights.

That is it, but try and take it to an autoparts store. They should have one that would work.

If I remember right, the 1610 has a " current Limiter" and a relay to turn the dash light on. Most others have it combined.

Doubt you can. You can see from the red sealant I had mine apart. Can't remember exactly what I soldered in it but something had came loose. I re soldered it. put it back together and my thermostart light started working. The thermostart actually works whether the light comes on or not. I believe that it someway times how long the thermostart stays on. My light will come on and automatically go off after a period of time. Don't really know if ambient temperature has an effect on the time or not.
