What is the normal RPM's of the newer 4 cylinder diesels?

I have an 09 B3200. When the throttle is set to the lowest position, RPM's are at 1000. Is this normal? Seems a little high to me..........

That's what my 4 cylinder kioti engine runs at idling

My B3030HSDC has basically the same engine and idles at 1025 fully warmed up-sounds normal to me.

Think some of the idle speeds are being upped to produce more heat in the engine so they will meet the new tier 3 levels.

That's correct, and it started before Tier III.
