The manual is confusing because it says that when the glow plug indicator light goes out after the key has been turned to the "ON" position the plugs are heated. Buth then on the very next page it says to turn the key the the "PREHEAT" position and hold it for 9 seconds before starting the engine.
I have just been turning the key on and waiting until the glow plug indicator light goes out and then starting the engine. Is this right? And if so, why is there a preheat position? For really cold days, maybe?
