Ok I'll repeat my old story then, ex wife drove a loaner 300 miles with daytime lights on only in the middle of the night. She was so upset at that car saying she was brighted, flashed, and the lights were very dim. when she got to where I was up north I looked at her loaner car and turned the lights on for her. Without saying a word. I swear I saw flames in her eyes and smoke coming out of her ears. I slept alone that night on a couch.
That's why they have Auto Headlights now.

That and modern dashboards seem to be far brighter than previously. I'm a fan of auto headlights with modern always illuminated dashboards.

Auto headlights are fine as long as the driver makes sure they are in The auto position. Whether they get turned off by habit, knob moved when cleaning, dunno.

Since it’s that time of year again, I’ll repeat myself.

People who are too stupid to realize their headlights aren’t on. Just the daytime running lights with no tail lights. Arghh
Just got home from retrieving a kid from school, and saw three drivers with no headlights on the way. One was parking lights only, the other two totally dark. It was 4.5 hours past sunset, so not just a “little” dark.

But my peeve goes the other way: a-holes who leave their headlights on and blinding folks in the opposing aisle, while sitting in a parking lot. Constant problem, retrieving kids from evening activities. Turn off your damn lights, if you’re sitting and idling in a parking space.

I keep the auto headlights on on both my vehicles, but I have to check them when I get the oil changed, as they always turn them off when they check the lights.

Auto Common Sense would be so much more useful.
Never gonna happen. Kind of like turn signals. These drivers won't use something if it doesn't affect them. They are living in their own little narcissistic world and don't have the ability to be considerate of other drivers on the road.

To engrossed in there large screen infotainment screen I guess? On the opposite spectrum problaby mentioned before and no disrespect to older folks but when I was younger came very close to getting t-boned by an elderly driver who left turn signal on and was driving slow enough I foolishly figured this elderly individual was making a right hand turn. So I pulled out into the intersection my much younger catlike reflexes allowed me to swerve and hammer the throttle to avoid a potential accident. Ever since then I'm occasionally flipped off or honked at cuz I'm problaby to defensive when entering a uncontrolled intersection intersection particularly when slow moving vehicles have there right turn signal on.

always seems to be mostly the gray/silver ones too!!! 😜
Especially older vehicles without DRLs. Had that happen just yesterday, deep twilight and someone in a dark gray sedan pulled out with no lights on. Barely saw him. You'd think they'd notice they can't see either.

The auto-off setting on both of my vehicles is momentary contact and defaults to auto if the vehicle is restarted.

Here's one I don't recall seeing here (though I'll admit I didn't re-read all 2,779 posts), E-signing documents. You seem to have to choose between trying to draw a signature that doesn't even remotely look like yours using a mouse, selecting some script font or some sort of pre-programmed "signature". Sometimes not even all those choices. If you screw up and select the wrong one, there's often no way to go back & start over.
The fact that these are presumably legally binding makes me a bit nervous.

I scan and saved a .jpg of my actual signature, but there's not always an option to go that route.
