Ok I'll repeat my old story then, ex wife drove a loaner 300 miles with daytime lights on only in the middle of the night. She was so upset at that car saying she was brighted, flashed, and the lights were very dim. when she got to where I was up north I looked at her loaner car and turned the lights on for her. Without saying a word. I swear I saw flames in her eyes and smoke coming out of her ears. I slept alone that night on a couch.

That and modern dashboards seem to be far brighter than previously. I'm a fan of auto headlights with modern always illuminated dashboards.

Auto headlights are fine as long as the driver makes sure they are in The auto position. Whether they get turned off by habit, knob moved when cleaning, dunno.

Since it’s that time of year again, I’ll repeat myself.

People who are too stupid to realize their headlights aren’t on. Just the daytime running lights with no tail lights. Arghh

Just got home from retrieving a kid from school, and saw three drivers with no headlights on the way. One was parking lights only, the other two totally dark. It was 4.5 hours past sunset, so not just a “little” dark.

But my peeve goes the other way: a-holes who leave their headlights on and blinding folks in the opposing aisle, while sitting in a parking lot. Constant problem, retrieving kids from evening activities. Turn off your damn lights, if you’re sitting and idling in a parking space.
