What is some of your Pet Peeve's

I can deal with that, but when getting an owner's manual for a late model vehicle and 5/8s of it is about how to install child seats and other useless nonsense it irritates me.

And that over half of the remaining 3/8s are warnings that should only apply to people that shouldn't be driving it the first place...

Of all the information the 1-inch thick manual all I've found useful is the lug nut torque.
During the wildfires here we bought an Ipad to be able to access our e-mail. I was trying to figure out how to get it to access the internet and the only instructions said that the operating manual could only be accessed on-line.

I've tried to set a couple of new computers up and in order to do so you need to be able to access your email. What I find equally frustrating is that I have two perfectly functioning printers. One is a Dell Inkjet B/W printer scanner which is perfect for many applications, including printing on Write-in-the-Rain paper . The other is a 3 YO HP color printer.

I cannot get drivers for either of these.

A big Craiglist peeve of mine... people who inundate the place with the same ads. Last night I did a search for snowplows. Out of 39 ads 28 were identical, the guy posts one every day.
That is one of the biggest reasons I don't visit the site much anymore. The other is that so many dealers don't know what state they are in. If I wanted to shop for cars in Massachusetts or New Hampshire I would visit the Craigslist for that state.

We just returned from our closest dumpster site. It was dark. A peeve is nowadays people pull up behind you with brights on. Years ago common courtesy people turned light off or at least parking lights. Now people are so oblivious to what's going on and rude.

Or everyone has fog lights that they run with all the time. The worst are on the jacked up trucks. As if their headlights weren't bright enough now you have the fog lights coming at you at eye level.

I believe they are supposed to be hooked up on the high beam switch, but most are not.

Our old stove was so simple, opening the door it would gently stop at about 1/4th way open where you just pull door up & off.
This one had an "owners manual"...worthless since it was written by lawyers. No mention of door R&R, just a cartoon drawing of a kid sitting on open door, a grinning grim reaper in the background. All these pages of what not to do and "burners cause burns"!
There is the real pet peeve, owner's manuals that are 60% - 70% warnings and disclaimers, with zero basic maintenance content. I own a lot of older equipment, and pulling out the original owners manuals on any of them is almost shocking in how useful they are, and how free they are of legal gibberish, by comparison to that which we've become accustomed in the last 30 years.

But of course, there's this factor, considered in writing every modern owner's manual: EVERY CAUTION STATEMENT HAS AN AWESOME BACK STORY.

Darwin awards? If I buy or get a free used up pile of junk and it doesn't have one I'll buy one or attempt to, provided I get it running and somewhat usable again.

Something I have noticed more over the last 5-10 years....people using the word verse in place of versus.

These words do not remotely mean the same thing. They dont even share an origin. Versus is from Latin and verse is old english (fers).

In some cases, people use verse as if it is the singular form of versus. For instance me verse you, but us versus them.
