Around here they use PA's. But you still get charged the full Dr rate/fee.
Having surgery? You'll probably be handed over to a CRNA (certified registered
nurse anesthetist). However, cut me open, and I want the frigging
Anesthesiologist at my side. I appreciate the nurse going the extra mile for the
certification (and huge salary bump) but The Dr went through all the hoops,
residencies etc. Just another way the Dr can up his take home pay.....
