"Semi truck". There's absolutely nothing right about that term.

In real life it's a tractor pulling a semi trailer. And most seem to be unaware that the vast majority of trailers are semi trailers, so named because they don't carry all of the weight.

Just avoid Chicago and Houston airports. I've been stranded overnight due to canceled flights out of both airports and since then avoid them like the plague.

Chicago I was able to get comped a hotel room and meals.

Houston, I was told that the cause was weather related so I was SOL for getting comped a room. Landed at 1pm and was told all flights were canceled for the day back to Little Rock. I ended up renting a little sh#t box and driving the 9 hours home.

If I am stuck at airport, I prefer to be stuck at big airport. I was stuck at Seattle because it was scheduled to snow the next day. No comps as it was weather delay.wife and I were flying with our mothers. United wanted to fly my mother and mother in law on standby to dc. Both were late eighties at the time. About thirty hours in airport to get home

That's actually quite common on Interstate 30 headed south between Hot Springs and Arkadelphia.

The slow lane is rough and will beat the daylights out of you. So the truckers will camp out in the hammer lane and impede traffic.

A few years ago I hired a fellow to help me with yard work. He brought his wife and she and my wife chatted in our living room. I came in and the guy's wife said she always wanted to know exactly how her brother died. I have no idea how I put 2&2 together (and this is graphic...) but I questioned her:
"Did he have a jeep?"..."Yes"...he died with a friend? Rt.29? Friday night, midnight, 30 years ago?...she started to cry. I didn't know if I should go on...but I chose my words.
I was driving to my parent's home that night, two guys in a CJ5 passed me doing 70, wine bottles turned up, in a curve a tractor trailer crossing the road slowly & the jeep went under trailer. I pulled over...first on scene. Tractor driver got out...we walked ahead about 50 feet. Wow...use your imagination.

In that instance the Jeep may have been secondary, but the wine was primary cause of death. Maybe instead of outlawing guns we should outlaw alcohol-

Glad US Airways is gone. It was their mess up I didn't get to my connecting flight. But they fought against comp, tooth and nail. It wasn't weather related, the pilot was just going too slow to the destination. Slept in the airport... uncomfortably.
