Dave,
Just to reiterate what someone else said, the powershift was not limited to the larger Yanmar tractors. I have two YM1110D's. They are no bigger than a decent garden tractor, and weigh about 900lb, and they have powershift transmissions. Yanmar also made a lawn tractor with the powershift transmission - I can't remember the model designation, but someone posted here about his a while back.
GT-14 maybe??

I have power shift on my Y2220D. Love it....It definitly can give you a jerk if you shift too fast without pausing between forward and reverse. Everything I 've heard says they are pretty much "bullet proof". Although I 'm sure some of my in/outlaws could tear it up....
