My dad and I always talked about doing a business together but the years got away and now he is gone. I thought I would use the equipment but never have so I now need advice. What are the following worth ballpark ?
1984 weldedenpower 225 16 hp kolher with maybe 10 hours on it (honestly) always garaged and covered kept for emergency power only started once per year with factory leads and cart
1970's ? Airco wasp twin cylinder Onan more hours always garaged hasn't been started in years at mechanics for startup etc now with 50 foot heavy pro leads and factory wheels
Lincoln ideal arc tig 300/300 square box with lincoln wheels etc, running on single phase current water cooler, torch maybe used 8 hours by me purchased used in 1990.
O/A cylinder Cart large bottles think power plant type airco Gage's hose and many tips including what I call a multiflame tip big
O/A small bottles top of the line welding torches victor maybe (think son wanted to by his dad the best) not used hose etc.

This is just the tip of the iceberg but I need to start somewhere might as well start with the big stuff

I recently bought a small O/A setup. Lendi (sp) guages and torch, new 25ft hose. Came with cart. Gave $100 and bottles where half full. About 2 years ago, I bought a idealarc 250/250 stick tig, with 50ft of leads, including that long of a tig lead, some tungsten and assortment of tig rods, also got large argon bottle,(full) and flow guage for $1200. Machine is around a 2000model and had seen very little use, stored covered in a dry shop. Not even a scratch on the sheetmetal. I think I got a good deal on everything, prices in your area might vary.

OA bottles that are out of date aren't worth much and you need to verify that they are bought and not leased & not returned which would make them useless. A new small sized cutting rig can be bought for around $200 (Uniweld brand not Victor) so price accordingly. Likely nothing wrong with an old rig that has been unused except maybe the hose is dry rotted so they may be worth $150 at most, but buyers have to consider that the regulators may need rebuilt so additional expense there. $100-150 would be tops on that. I personally wouldn't buy an old welder genset that old even if unused for much more than 50% of new cost so I would think $1000-1500 would be a firm price for them, maybe a bit more if perfect operating condition and paint is good.

Gary is correct about the gas bottles. I was reasonably sure i can get my bottles filled, local supplier swaps bottles with owners. I like this arrangement because it means I dont have to worry about being out of date. Ownership is another matter, if you dont own it, they wont accept it for trade. My old bottles, with a now shut down supplier, I had to take a bill of sale everytime I needed them filled. When it came inspection time, I also had to pay to have them tested. Current company took my old bottles in swap, so i didnt have to pay for new bottles and I have been with them every since. A couple of times, I have paid the difference between my smaller bottles to get larger ones. The bottles I am tradeing in are owned by me, got a bill of sale for them from the gas supplier, but a refill is still just a tradein for full bottles. Dont know if or when I will ever get my original bottles back, but the current terms work, so I'm ok with it.
