Rake What is a Rake worth?

I saw a First Choice 7 foot York Rake for sale for $300.00. Is this a good price to pay for a like new rake? Will my 27HP tractor pull this ok?

I paid $600 for a 6' landpride 15 series (lighter duty) last fall (with guage wheels) - they should be called "gouge wheels" they cost >$300 as an option. New rig would have cost $1,150 IIRC. I've been running it on my 18 HP new holland, I'd think 27HP should run a 7 footer fine...

Thanks, that is what I needed to know. I never priced them and had no clue as to what they sold for. I have made arrangements to pick it up on Sunday.

So much foir that rake. The guy told me he wasn't driving out to his farm until Sunday morning because it is a waste of gas just to sell one item. Well don't you know I call him today to confirm our Sunday morning pickup of the rake. He tells me that he just sold it to another guy. He said the guy was hoiunding him for it. I told him that he promised it to me. He said sorry. My next words to him were F------ A------, as I hung up on him. Some people just S--- and can't be trusted by their word I guess.

Buy a Midwest rake, they have very good gage wheels. I have a 6' with the gage wheels on my B7800 and I have no issues with it. Total cost $750. Money well spent.

Thanks for the info on the Midwest rake. I was looking for a used one as I am a little short on funds right now.

Yep, I ran into that very thing here. A member made a deal through PMs and then backed out of it with no regard to his word. Blamed it on his in-law. Each to their own...
