Kubota 7610
Hi everyone,

I have a very unruly 1 acre field that needs work. The field has grass, but is very bumpy and uneven. It is not rocky. I would like to smooth out the field and replant the grass.

I own a Kubota 7610. What implement(s) would be best suited for this task (other than hiring a pro excavator)?

Any advice on this project would be greatly appreciated /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thank you in advance...

I'd even out the big bumps with a Boxblade, using the scarifiers to break 'em up and dragging the material to the low spots. Once I had the grade I wanted, I'd use a tiller to break everything up and prepare for reseeding.

Hope this helps.

I don't think you'd need to even boxblade if you have a tiller. I've found that my tiller goes a long way to making things level out. I don't see in your profile that you have either a boxblade or a tiller, so if you need to buy just one, it would be the boxblade.
Using the scarifiers down all the way, top link shortened so that the scarifiers are the only thing touching, drag them through the soil to tear it up. Then lengthen your top link to allow the rear inside blade to drag the high spots into the low. As you pass over, if you have some low spots left, you can back the box using the rear outside blade to push some dirt into the low spots. It takes some practice to get this process down pat.
Another thing you can do is to break up the soil with the scarifiers, and then use an old bed spring, length of heavy beam tied off with chain, old chain link fence or gate weighted down, and drag around and around until you get a level surface.
That may be the easiest way. Just break it all up and then drag it. For a larger area, I'd go with the dragging as the boxblading is more difficult.

thanks guys...I'll put those suggestions to work. I don't own a box or tiller, but I do own some old chain link fence, so I'm almost there!
