Well, considering how cold it had been, I'd say it started very well! No, I've never pulled the GPs but did check them several years ago... guess I should at least check continuity again.

Today, again with no block heater (16F) and about 45 seconds of GP, it started right up, no problem. I'm lovin' it!

Last time I started mine really cold, it was 6F or 7F. Gave it 30 seconds glow, and 1/4 throttle. Fired right up.

I actually have that one on video somewhere.

I am very fortunate to have really good quality fuel available to me, just 10 minutes away.

Update about my post # 2,624:

First of all, now the prices from my local Napa for a fuel filter is $46, and an air filter is $90, WOW!

So yesterday, in my garage I had a new fuel purchased in 2019 which cost me $7.13, and a slightly used air filter from the 2019 change out.

The air filter on the tractor from the 2019 change out cost in 2019 was $49.96.

So, I replaced the air filter with my slightly used air filter from the garage, and replaced the fuel filter with the new one I had from the garage.

The fuel and the old fuel filter looked ok, but there were a few tiny particles located in the sediment bowl.

Reinstalling the sediment bowl with fresh diesel about 3/4 full, and then adding about 2oz. 911 diesel treatment directly to the fuel tank (didn't think this was required).

The GC started right up (block heater was on for about 2 hours) in the garage that was 14 degrees F.

I plowed snow for about 2 hours and the GC ran smooth without any issues, yes.

I did use my MR. Heater double top heater attached to a 30 lb. propane tank to warm my hands once in a while, burr.

KC

EDIT: As of yesterday the GC has 806 hours.

glad I keep a few from amazon in stock always. still got 3 unopened.
air filters though...yeah no matter where you get they cost, good thing they can be cleaned a few times but at some point you gotta replace. got one fresh one here, one in use will be tossed when time not gonna clean again.

Look hard enough, and:

#3262 on line, is $27.99

49691 from Wix, is $44.19

Even those are to much. But, that's capitalism.

At least they are good quality.

whats kind of funny is my massey dealer, same distance as to local napa store, is usually w/i 2$ of the online prices. I spent about 50$ for air filter (at dealer) but last one was approx year ago so who knows now.
fuel filters, usually keep 3 to 4 new here as they fits 3 neighbors tractors also. so if something happens I need to toss one in they replace it for me.

0800 am. -2f. up from -10f. gc2400 started (yup I used block heater) to clear 4" drifts off driveway. looked at temps, shut the 2013 escape and 2019 silverado off then turned key off on the gc2400. as I type this still below -2F and yet...all my crap has been running.
let the gc2400 running for 45 minutes, decided not worth hopping onto operator platform right now. injured rt knee (operated on 9-2024) other day using it, whatever.
to tie this in, family wanted be to run blower out this morning to clear a path on 2 properties. not happening.

No. Sorry, time out. I have to throw a challenge flag. Block heater starts don't count.

I am willing to stipulate to the fact that it will start at absolute zero, with a block heater. 🤔
